Building material toxicity and life cycle assessment: A systematic critical review

This review systematically analyses the most relevant contributions published in area of toxicity building materials and their evaluation from perspective life cycle analysis to give a critical view relationship between two fields. For this review, systematic literature methodology was chosen. With methodology, it is possible identify important sources obtain complete reading state question. The shows that articles on focus usage phase, ignoring perspective. On other hand, different Life Cycle Assessment methodologies start inventories, so results will vary depending chosen method. In all cases, predictions are underestimated, they considered secondary impact, also effects bioaccumulation have not been integrated into methodology. main conflictive points found discussed, such as lack coverage substances widely used construction sector or need integrate new impacts. • It necessary study phases.
